PREVIOUS ART WORK

EFFECT AND CAUSE, 2018

Effect and Cause (AKA Reflections) is a film installation that is made up of a cozy cubicle that invites 1-2 people to sit in and watch videos that were collectively recorded by people from different cities around the world, who video-recorded their living room TV screen while it is turned off (the reflections on their TVs).

Effect and Cause attempts, through the use of negative space, to create an experience of instant transport for the viewer.

An Alien Project, 2021

An Alien Project is a film-focused mixed media piece that was a part of the “Reflections on past futures” exhibition at Warehouse421. The piece presents a true story genre film about an artist that discovers abandoned diaries linking to a secret alien operation that took place in Mina Zayed during the 80s.

My goal with this piece was to create a sense of overblown perspective on the area (the Mina), which best describes my childhood memories of the area. I also wanted to challenge the idea of “truth of information” in art.

COLOUR BAR: Colour, Space and Bits per Pixel, 2019

Exist as Two is an installation that was a part of the COLOUR BAR Exhibition at Maraya Art Center in 2019. The installation takes inspiration from three digital art pieces that I made back in 2016 that were intended to be presented on Instagram/social media and re-creates them in a physical form in an art center. My intention with this piece was to challenge myself and the audience to think about the effects a platform or a location has on the way a piece is presented.

UNSYNCHRONIZED ASSEMBLY video experiment

This is a video experiment I created back in college intended to be watched a selected group that were asked to share their experience after watching it. My goal with this piece was to test the limits of self-created meanings that are created by the audience due to the process of random montage.
