LNL ARTHOUSE, founded by Mansour AlHeera in 2020.
“LNL is an artistic movement registered as business”
LNL is built on 6 fundamental pillars:
The individuals in a team define the strategy and boundaries of a project, not the other way around.
#1
Employment is project based, people from different fields are invited to join a to complete a specific task.
#2
The procedure of creating a project at LNL is inspired by the structure of creating a film.
#3
Seeking newness, starting with the basics. As a company established in a country new to art, we believe in creating our way, not importing structures.
#4
Creating a platform for creatives who are considered minorities in their approach.
#5
Creating a work environment that supports startups, that are otherwise unreachable due to the overwhelming complexity of the policy structure.
#6
LNL, as mentioned, is about hiring self-employed professionals to do a specific task. But, we do have a full time staff, those who are working the essential jobs:
A team leader / manager
Accountant
Lawyer
Marketing team
Creatives serving the brand (LNL) itself, such as Animator, Editor, Technician, Graphic designer, and media coverage.
How LNL operates
LNL ARTHOUSE provides services that are a hybrid between hiring a private/self-employed creative and between hiring a creative company. It never looses the voice of the singular creative because the team of people that are hired for any project are freelancers and private practitioners that are entitled to their own discipline. With that being said, it avoids the informality, uncertainty, and the unstable level of professionalism that can be met when hiring a self-employed person to do a task. It also protects the creative and the client by offering a level of legality to the interaction. It also acts as a bridge that tries to level the difference in work ethic / approach between the sides. And finally, it provides the equipment and resources needed to complete the agreed upon project.
With that being said, that does not make LNL ARTHOUSE an agency that simply connects clients to the creatives, because we only invite to our project team the professionals who agree with our six pillars. And more importantly, the LNL staff & creatives invited are equally in charge of the project’s vision.
Why LNL ARTHOUSE? Why now? Why here in the UAE?
Supporting self-employed creatives that are in return are capable of supporting the advancement of our economy and diverse interests.
It has become difficult for a person to support themselves without falling into the traditional 9-5 job because there isn’t enough work for them. Bigger institutions tend to hire companies to complete their tasks. However, there are creatives that have reached a certain level of sustainable income through self employment, but they do that by creating work for someone else. To obtain the privilege of creating work you believe in, you would have to start your own brand or join a brand that you believe in. Very few people, and after a lot of struggle do reach a level of fame and success which allows them to constantly work on their own disciplines while being self-employed.
More and more people are falling out of the corporate job world, in a time where jobs vacancies are decreasing. LNL ARTHOUSE takes advantage of that trend by giving those people a chance to put their experience into a new project that requires their knowledge and expertise. The professionals we need are not just those in the art and design world, they could be engineers, scientist, craftsmen, or even athletes. Anybody that has a deep understanding of their field and have the flexibility to join a group of multidisciplinary people working towards creating something new can join. And that is where the 3rd pillar of LNL “inspiration from the structure of creating a film” comes in. When we create a film we are re-creating a specific reality with the help of people that have enough knowledge to have been a part of creating that actual reality. As filmmakers we have real experience in bringing together a team of professionals from different fields to achieve one goal, and once that goal is achieved we separate, then take our experience to other teams and be apart of achieving their goal. LNL believes that it is now the time to bring that work ethic outside the film world and apply to the structure of a company.
The more projects LNL creates by applying this belief in recruiting, the more chances it opens up for self-employment individuals. And the more chances/opportunities it brings to the market the more number of people join the self-employment cycle. Our overall goal is to neutralize the idea of becoming a self-employed professional among Emiratis, because that will allow them to dig deeper into their fields and experiment in a way they can’t when working for a bigger organization. After all, the smaller the team, the smaller the risk.
The artistic scene in the UAE is missing a crucial essence and soul.
The pillars of LNL and the style of our work is derived from a film philosophy point of view and a visual studies background that is deeper than the simply pointing a camera and shooting. Unfortunately, this is not very common among our peers in the UAE or the gulf region as a whole. Which is why there is a certain agreed upon complaint around the films of the region being bland, uninteresting, and fake. We are interested in participating in the movement of stylizing the Emirati film scene in the UAE and to the world. Those concepts (visual philosophy and theory) in western history have always been complex and of interest to people working in the field only, which leads to a disconnect between what the academics/thinkers behind the film world are doing and what actually gets put on screen. However, we think that we can change that today, there are two main differences in the way we, LNL, are applying visual theory to our work here in the UAE:
First, “the fourth wall” which is the world behind the camera isn’t as hidden as it once were from the audience. Thanks to digital media and creatives like daily bloggers for example, the audience is now much more aware of the process of creating video, inviting the audience to peak through the fourth wall in todays world is not ruining any of the magic that comes with film or digital media in general. Instead, it is proving that the audience are becoming more interested in participating and having an understanding. Which is why this is a great time for us filmmakers to interact and experiment with the boundaries of Emirati cinema while having a direct response from the audience.
Secondly, LNL brings the ideology from visual theorist and combines it with a mentality of a company interesting in selling a wanted service or product, which leads to an instant application and experimentation to those theories in the real world. We want to capture the Emirati lifestyle and tell the story of its people, not film Emiratis chasing the American dream. This is not something we think the people might be interested in, this is something they have been asking for.
LNL upcoming projects

Music Platform
Music Films
&
Music Clips
Starting with the UAE, Kuwait, Saudi Arabia, and Oman. We will be touring around those places to meet with undiscovered talented musicians with the goal of capturing their art and story, only to be presented on our Youtube channel. The next step will be Jordan, Egypt, and finally Arab artists that immigrated to different areas in Europe due to the instability in their countries. But the Gulf will always be the core focus of the platform. In fact, the deal we make with those musicians is that we share their story wherever they are, and in return we support them in bringing their art to the UAE at some point in the future.

Film equipment
MADE IN UAE
Creating an Emirati film style goes way beyond story and genre. The problems that American cinema has created culturally because of the misrepresentation of people started before the story was written. It started with making a camera that favored a specific skin tone, which then presented that image onto a TV that was programmed to view the same skin tone best. The point is that if we want to capture our culture and people truthfully, we need to build our own tools.
Also, from a business point of view, we will be the first and only company to do so in a market that adores buying film and photography equipment.
We all have to start somewhere however, and so for our first product, LNL will produce a high quality camera tripod that is sturdy and luxurious, like the Emiratis using it. And then more products will join the production line until we have a complete serious line of products designed and produced in the UAE.

Visual Projection
&
Projection Mapping
By using state of art projection technology and creativity of filmmakers and animators we will create projection mapping art pieces around the country, and offer a service to create a customized visual piece for any institution that requires it. This technology is not new to the UAE, however it usually done by hiring international companies to do it for them for a very high price. LNL wants it to be more accessible, and by doing so pushing the technology further in our visual culture here in the UAE. We will offer a service that is more affordable, more flexible, and more accessible.
